"It started 10 years ago, when I had just graduated from college and started a new job. I was sitting in a business seminar in a hotel and this thing came out of the blue. I felt like I was dying."

Anxiety Disorders are the most common mental illness in the U.S. with 19.1 million (13.3%) of the adult U.S. population (ages 18-54) affected.

Anxiety disorders are serious medical illnesses. These disorders fill people's lives with overwhelming anxiety and fear. It's felt that one-quarter of the general population experiences a real anxiety disorder during their lifetime and commonly, anxiety co-exists with other medical conditions, especially depression.

Effective treatments for anxiety disorders are available, and research is yielding new, improved therapies that can help most people with anxiety disorders lead productive, fulfilling lives.

If you think you have an anxiety disorder, you should seek information and treatment. At HealthyPlace.com, we believe that the more you understand about anxiety and issues like medications, the more likely you are to get the full benefit of treatment.

If you have already been diagnosed with an anxiety disorder and are in treatment, we want to help you learn as much as you can about anxiety and to offer you support in your recovery.

I am a fixer I fix things and do it well. I cant get it through my head not to try to fix this. Every time [my wife] tells me what’s bothering her I minimize it unintentionally. I try to make it look not as bad. I try to make the mountain a mole hill instead. This just ticks her off and makes her angry saying anything that happens with her isn’t as big a deal as it happens with me.
