Online Conference Transcript OCD and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy Our guest, Dr. Michael Gallo: says a combination of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and medications is the best treatment for OCD (Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder). Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a type of therapy where you identify and challenge your irrational thoughts and modify your behavior accordingly. Doubt and Other Disorders Obsessively Medicated There are two methods of treatment for sufferers of OCD. The first is the use of Drug Therapy. Mainly SRI's (Serotonin reuptake inhibitors) and SSRI's (Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors) are used to increase the levels of Serotonin - a chemical messenger in the Brain.
