Help! The entire point of HealthyPlace.com is to provide updated, trustworthy information, as well as support for individuals, and their loved ones, who are experiencing the effects of psychological disorders. When you're at HealthyPlace.com, you're never alone.Getting Around HealthyPlace.com
Getting Around HealthyPlace.comHealthyPlace.com is divided into various communities representing major psychological interests. In each community, there are independently run sites that provide information and guidance. Here's a listing of every site within HealthyPlace.com. But don't worry, no matter where you are in HealthyPlace.com, it's easy to get around. Across the top of each page is a HealthyPlace.com banner and along the bottom of each page are HealthyPlace.com links to all major parts of our website. Specific Community QuestionsIf you have a question, comment, or concern about something in a specific community, first contact the "community leader" who's name and email address is posted on the entry page of each community. If that doesn't work, then contact HealthyPlace.com. Getting Your Site on HealthyPlace.comMaybe you have a site that you think is worthy of being included in HealthyPlace.com. Let us know and we'll take a look. JournalsBesides the sites, individuals maintain journals/diaries to share with others what they are going through; and what is and isn't working for them. Hopefully, they'll also provide you with some additional insights. You can also post your feelings and responses to what the journalers have to say. I Want To Be A JournalerIt's not easy. The HealthyPlace.com staff and the community leaders are a tough bunch when it comes to judging journalers. First, you really have to understand what you're getting into. Then, you also have to know how to write and spell. Think you're good enough? Let's give it a try then. I Wrote to "Ask Doc" and Never Heard BackEach community has an "Ask Doc" column where you can send your question and the doc responds in her/his column. Please keep in mind that each columnist receives hundreds of questions a week. The columnist usually picks out 2-3 questions and answers them. She/he cannot respond to each individual question. Please do not feel rejected if your question isn't answered. It was probably a great question, but after all, doc is only human and can only answer so many at one time. You might also want to check the past "Ask Doc" columns in the community to see if doc already responded to a similar question. Can I Be An "Ask Doc" Columnist?Maybe. First you have to be a licensed psychologist, psychiatrist, or therapist with expertise in the community topic. Then, you have to be able to write columns in a way that anyone can understand what you're saying. You'll also need to have some available time to write the columns. And, of course, you have to love doing it, because there's no pay. Support GroupsEach community has support groups that meet on our chat site during the week. Just go to the community and click on the "community calendar" link and see what's up. Just to make it clear, these are informal groups led by individuals who are not licensed therapists. The support groups led by licensed therapists, which cost a nominal fee, are here. I Want To Be A Support Group LeaderYou must be over 21, have good general knowledge of the subject, leadership skills (it doesn't hurt that you have either participated regularly and/or been a support group leader online or in real life before), excellent chat skills, and the ability and willingness to make a 1 hour weekly commitment for at least 8 weeks. If interested, please fill out this form. Online Conferences & GuestsEach community has moderated conferences throughout the month where various guests come to speak on a specific topic. During that time, you can ask the guest any relevant question you want. To check out the events, you can either go here, or click the "community calender" link on the community site. If you'd like to be a guest, and have knowledge, expertise, or relevant experiences that you want to share, please notify the "community leader" who's name and email address is listed on the front page of each community. Chat ProblemsLet's hope we can resolve them for you. Many of the answers to chat questions are located here. Here are some answers to other difficulties:
Forum ProblemsEach community runs it's own forums. Answers to technical issues, can be found here. Problems with individual posts or topics should be addressed with the "community leader," whose name and email address appears on the front page of the community. Subscribing or Unsubscribing to Various Community NewslettersTo subscribe, go to the front page of the community you are interested in. At the top, you'll see two boxes, for your name and email address. Fill then in, then click on the "sign up now" button. To unsubscribe, just follow the directions at the bottom of the newsletter. And by the way, if you've changed your email address, please unsubscribe the old one and re-subscribe using the new one. I've Got A Problem You've Never Heard OfOccasionally, that happens. Please let us know how we can help. Even Better, I've Got An Idea to Improve HealthyPlace.comThank you. Thank you. Thank you. Please send it quickly. |
